Award winning Director Michelle Prevost has been working in experimental film and animation for several years.  She directed the short film “Isn’t it Obvious?” an elegy for the family of the transgender murder victim Gwen Araujo. The film was shown in over 30 film festivals and won best documentary short at the Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. While Michelle Prevost's work deals with a wide range of subjects, a humanitarian theme runs through her films.

After the local murder of a young transgender youth named Gwen Araujo, Michelle began working on her feature documentary, Trained in the Ways of Men. Michelle “transitioned” that is went from being perceived as male to being perceived as female ten years ago. This experience gives her a high degree of credibility, understanding and insight when covering transgender subject matter. Michelle is currently studying film and animation at De Anza College.
