Baby Snatchers
Do you know where your baby is?
Ilena Ferrer Produced the award winning Sci-fi short "Baby Snatchers", written and Directed by Michelle Prevost. "Baby Snatchers" premiered at the 15th Scary Cow Screening, at the Castro Theatre, San Francisco, CA on 11/20/2011, winning both a Judges and Outstanding Visual Effects awards. The feature length version is currently in development.
Scary Cow Judge Jacques Haitkin's comments:
A rash of unexplained baby kidnappings puts a mother on her guard—and not a moment too soon, as she catches a green-eyed, other-worldly baby snatcher in the act of stealing her baby. Mom courageously uses martial arts to ward off the kidnapper and escape, but he can move through walls, eventually confronting her with a warning that he’s not what mom thinks—he’s from the Heavenly Adoption Agency, and while he can’t save mom, he can save her baby from a soon-coming nuclear holocaust. As the world explodes behind her, mom gets it, and hands her baby over to the snatcher right before she’s blown to kingdom come.
At the end of the day, it’s Baby Snatchers’ complete narrative that makes the film a bit of cheesy fun. Characters are not very deep, but it’s okay; plot, theme, digital EFX and some very cool, suspense-building shots of the baby snatcher keep us engaged for its slightly long 8-minute running time.
Starring Jaimelee Roberts and Ryder Darcy
Original Score by Key Cats Music
