Pressure
In an alternate future, a steam-powered San Francisco is controlled by corporate overlords enforcing strict compliance of its citizens. A father and daughter are torn apart as they take different paths against the oppression but under mounting pressure of discovery, must work together to plan escape in their illegal airship.

Picture

Written and Directed by Michelle Prevost, and Produced by Ilena Ferrer, this short narrative film is a "chapter" taken from a feature length story,  a pilot, proof of concept of the rich visual journey through an imaginary steampunk city. Shot on location throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, including the famous 32Ten Studios (home to some of the most iconic effects sequences in film history), Pressure 's vivid costumes, comprehensive production design, and elaborate animations were all developed as part of the painstaking process of creating a world that doesn't exist. The story comes to life via it's remarkable characters, including dozens of members of our local steampunk community who appeared as extras in various scenes throughout the film. Our premiere at the grand Castro Theatre in San Francisco on 7/6/13  was a huge success, winning several awards!

Synopsis

Cog has challenged himself to develop a warning system which he must complete before he and Pascal execute their plan of escape.
