Trans Justice
Update: Trans Justice 2019
The original Trans Justice came out in 2015. Unfortunately, the film's message is still relevant today. Trans Justice 2019 has been updated to include the onslaught of government action and continued violence against the transgender community in recent years.
About
Reel Freedom Films' latest documentary short explores how far LGBT rights have come in the last fifteen years since the death of Gwen Araujo and the murder trial that first brought the word "transgender" to public awareness. Capturing events throughout the Bay Area during those fifteen years, featuring community leaders and celebrities, this film asserts that while gay rights have seen huge progress over the last few years, the transgender community still faces an uphill battle.
